Spectral POD Modal Decomposition Added to DynamicStudio

Side-by-side image showing Spectral POD Modal Decomposition in DynamicStudio 8.4 from Dantec Dynamics.

We are excited to announce the release of DynamicStudio 8.5, with new features and focus on ease-of-use.

New Advanced Modal Decomposition
Spectral POD (sPOD) is now supported by DynamicStudio. What distinguishes SPOD from “standard” POD is that the modes vary in both space and time and are orthogonal under a space–time inner product, rather than only space. As a consequence, they are optimal at expressing spatiotemporal coherence in the data.

The decompositions can now be applied to any scalar value, e.g. pressures, vortex criteria or simple displacements. We have bundled the Advanced POD methods in one add-on: Advanced Modal Decompositions.

Calibration Update
The Camera Calibration now supports all targets and calibration models, and it replaces the “Multi Camera Calibration”.

Python Scripting
The online help has been updated with in-depth descriptions and examples.

DynamicStudio 8.5 is now available for download. Visit our website for more information. If you are under Software Update Agreement, you can download DynamicStudio 8.5 here and test the powerful new features.
