We are pleased to expand our product portfolio for flame chemiluminescence studies with the new FlowSense FCX2 8M UV camera.
Featuring two CoaXPress channels, the FCX2 8M UV delivers 194 fps at full 8 MP resolution, doubling the frame rate of the previous-generation UV camera. This enables more detailed analysis of fast combustion phenomena without compromising image quality.
The camera also offers advanced pixel binning capabilities to improve sensitivity in low-light applications. With 2×2 binning, sensitivity increases by a factor of four while maintaining a resolution of 2 MP. At the same time, the frame rate rises to 625 fps, providing exceptional temporal resolution for capturing rapidly changing events.
Sensitive across both the UV spectrum (200-400 nm) and the visible spectrum (400-800 nm), the camera is ideal for imaging OH* chemiluminescence at 308 nm as well as CH* chemiluminescence at 431 nm.
In addition, the FCX2 8M UV supports double-frame acquisition, making it suitable for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) applications using, for example, 532 nm lasers. This versatility makes the camera an excellent choice for both combustion diagnostics and fluid dynamics research.
