FlowSense FCX 8M UV and FlowSense FCX2 8M-190 UV
Flame chemiluminescence without an expensive Image Intensifier is possible with these UV sensitive cameras. Eye-safe combustion diagnostics experiments can be conducted since no laser is required for chemiluminescence.
The CoaXPress12 based FlowSense FCX camera with CMOS image sensor, offers 88 fps frame rate and 8 Megapixel resolution at the same time. The FlowSense FCX2 8M-190 uses two CoaXPress channels to double the frame rate to 194 fps, and offers 2×2 binning to increase the light sensitivity at the expense of reducing the resolution to 2 Megapixel.
The backside illuminated sensors provides great sensitivity, extended dynamic range coupled with extremely robust blooming suppression for clean imaging even in challenging applications.

The sensor is optimized for UV all the way down to 200 nm, opening the possibility of doing UV chemiluminescence without the need for an expensive image intensifier. UV lenses and filters are available to acquire images at the proper wavelengths for OH* and CH* chemiluminescence.
Being sensitive in the visible as well, the cameras can also be used in double-frame mode for PIV applications.
