Prof. Bernd Leitl, head of the Environmental Wind Tunnel Laboratory at the Meteorological Institute in Hamburg, shows a 3D model of Hamburg city as well as the measurement techniques used to evaluate the wind and turbulence field. This wind tunnel is used for simulating detailed wind flow and transport phenomena within the lower atmospheric boundary layer. He uses a Stereo PIV solution and a FiberFlow LDA solution with different 2D and 3D (5-beam probe) optics.
