Combining ThermoESA and FlexDIC to validate test results in a cyclic fatigue test

For the first time a ThermoESA and a FlexDIC are being used in parallel to validate the test measurement results from a cyclic fatigue test on an aluminum coupon (cut-out).
The systems are being used, in parallel/synchronization, to measure the strain/stress concentration of an aluminum coupon (cut-out) in a cyclic fatigue test at 2.6 Hz.
Using both the ThermaESA and the FlexDIC you have access to ALL quantities of information, that could ever be needed from a test; the FlexDIC measuring contour (shape), displacement & strain and the TSA measuring stress, strain and temperature.

Each system views the coupon from the opposite side; however, both are synchronized in the image acquisition via using the testing rig output as a clock signal (Sync In for the DIC DAQ Controller).
