High-resolution optical measurements of miniature metal samples for microstructural engineering applications with FlexDIC

In 2023, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS), acquired a FlexDIC system for high-resolution optical measurements of miniature metal samples for microstructural engineering applications.

Assistant professor, Dr. Tan Xipeng, and his PhD student, Chen Mingzhang from the Mechanical Metallurgy Lab says “the FlexDIC solution is ideal for performing the microscopic tests that we require. In particular, it helps us to identify and quantify localized plastic deformation behavior of our 3D-printed heterogenous metal samples.”
