Flows have a strong three dimensional behavior. With planar and stereo PIV, this 3D motion is often not measurable. Thanks to the latest DynamicStudio Add-ons for Volumetric Velocimetry (VV), you can now measure the 3D characteristics of flows. Whether your interest is Lagrangian trajectories of the particle paths or routines for high resolution Eulerian data, DynamicStudio has the solution to your volumetric testing needs.
What is needed
Volumetric Velocimetry is based on the concept of Particle Image Velocimetry. All you need to make high accuracy VV measurements is additional cameras, a Volumetric illumination system, and the appropriate software package. If you already have a PIV system, it can most likely be upgraded to a Volumetric system.
Different algorithms for fast and accurate analysis
Tracking-based or reconstruction-based algorithms are selectable to generate the desired data type. Different reconstruction approaches may be selected to find the desired balance between calculation time and accuracy.
Key Benefits of DynamicStudio
- DynamicStudio offers different packages for Volumetric Velocimetry applicable to a diverse range of experiments
- Users can choose between tracking and Least-Squares Matching based solutions
- Different routines offer different benefits; from very fast MinLos routines to high performance but demanding Motion Tracking Enhancement reconstruction
- Generate volumetric results from a two camera solution
- GPU acceleration for faster processing
- DynamicStudio offered the first 3D PTV algorithm in 2008 and has been adding features and capabilities ever since. DynamicStudio version 7 introduces support for an arbitrary number of cameras and an updated tracking code to better account for accelerations. These new features improve the capability of measuring at high seeding densities.
- Planar systems can be upgraded to a volumetric system
