In this application video, a 4-cam MulticamDIC system is used to measure the displacement of aluminum
specimen in a torsion test. With the MulticamDIC setup the cameras are aligned cylindrically around the
test object.
Point tracking is used to track discrete subset/facets throughout the test, whereby the concept of
Multicamera Data Cross Tracking (MDACT) whereby any point found by at least 2 cameras within the
MulticamDIC setup is tracked, even if it no longer visible in the reference step.
Points can be added together with the trajectory throughout the 2D overlay image. The top right window
indicates the identification status of the point with respect to step. The bottom right window indicates
the identification status with respect to camera.
Temporal plots can also be generated for position, displacement, velocity and acceleration, for any
number of points with analogue inputs.
The test was conducted at the Laboratory of of Mechanics of Materials and Structures at the Faculty
of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology of Gdańsk University of Technology. Data is courtesy
