Time-Resolved Velocity Measurements of Droplet Formation in a Flow Focusing Junction

Understanding of the flow field related to monodisperse emulsions is crucial as they are often the subject of lab-on-the-chip applications, and used in food, pharmaceutical, personal care, and cosmetic industries. MicroPIV systems can provide valuable information in research on droplet formation in microchannels. In this application note, we describe the time-resolved velocity measurements performed in droplets (dispersed phase) in a microchannel.
