In this application video, a 2-cam FlexDIC system is being used to measure the LaGrangian principal strain 1
(major strain) and total (compressive) displacement of a steel bar cross-section in a compression test.The measured strain reached a maximum of 1 mstrain, which (as expected) generated at the outer corners
of the bar. The total displacement was measured using two line gauges, one in the vertical direction, indicating
shrinkage, and one in the horizontal direction, indicating elongation in the amount of 1.3 mm.Through using a point gauge at the peak of highest displacement, the max principal strain reach 0.7 ustrain,
that corresponds with the applied load.
