PDA and 3D LDA optical systems require rigid benches and highly robust and stable probe supports with fine adjustments to ensure good overlap of the probe volumes. The choice of benches and probe supports depends on the size and weight of the optics. Large probes require more robust supports than small probes. Dedicated submersible probe supports are available for 14mm, 27 mm and 60 mm diameter probes.
