Double Frame Cameras for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)
FlowSense FCX: High resolution and high frame rates
The FCX and FCX2 offer a wide variety of resolutions from 5 to 24 MP. With the high bandwidth CoaXPress12 interface they can all reach 30 fps to make the best use of the 10 and 15 Hz DualPower lasers. Their backside illuminated CMOS sensors provide great sensitivity, extended dynamic range and extremely robust blooming suppression for clean imaging even in challenging applications.
The FlowSense FCX2 cameras are based on a similar sensor as the FCX, but have a 2-Channel interface offering twice the frame rate. They also support a 2×2 binning, combining 4 neighboring pixels into one bigger, more light sensitive and less noisy pixel. With 2×2 binning, the readout is even faster. The binned FCX2 5M can reach 830fps with a resolution of 1.2MP. For some water flow applications this means that you can measure the flow with adequate temporal resolution for pressure computations.

HiSense Zyla: Image quality
Based on the sCMOS technology, the HiSense Zyla series has been specifically engineered to exploit the full potential of this sensor technology to achieve the best possible performance, image quality (up to 16 bit), and reliability.
The HiSense Zyla is ideal for light sensitive applications. It comes in two versions: HiSense Zyla (5.5 MP at 50 fps) with a Camera Link frame grabber to benefit from the maximum bandwidth that the sensor offers, and HiSense Zyla USB (5.5 MP at 40 fps), which makes the connection to the PC easier and reduces the cost by removing the frame grabber, all that comes only with a slightly reduced frame rate, which still matches the 15Hz frequencies of the typical double pulse lasers.
